“LDJ: I was inspired by the movie Black Swan, and more particularly by the dual character of Nina. I drew a lot from that duality to produce the destructured painting on the outfits. It fitted my spontaneous style of painting.
As for the dancing, I decided to forgo the ballet aspect altogether, and focus instead on the precious, light traits of feathers and lace. I wanted the outfits to be both feminine and spectacular.”
